Healthy Aging and Balance & Mobility in Killarney

At B Well Fitness Club we aim to cater for all levels of activity but as important we look to cater for all age groups.

This is how our Healthy Aging classes came about as we were offering people over the age of 50, both male and female the change to improve bone density and muscle mass in a challenging but fun and social environment.
Our Healthy Aging classes take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1pm with a slightly different class each day. Mondays is called TRX, Core & More where we utilize TRX suspension straps and the persons own body weight to create the resistance, we also focus on Core work in this class which is an important area of the body to improve regardless of age, and we usually add in an extra component on the day which is the trainer’s choice.
Wednesdays are the ever-popular circuits utilizing all different types of equipment from our cable station to kettlebells and barbells as well as battle ropes, TRX, med balls and dumbbells.
Friday finishes off the week with barbells and kettlebells for a full body workout.
Our Balance & Mobility class is aimed at over 70’s and has 2 classes a week on the schedule. Tuesday is on the main studio floor is focused on functional movement to strengthen the body to help improve your balance and increase your mobility. Then on Thursdays it is a chair yoga class with our yoga instructor Elaine O Neill.
WE are seeing more and more people in both age groups coming in because they have been advised by their doctor or hospital consultant to improve their bone density, muscle mass or improve their strength to reduce the possibility of falling, so if you find yourself in this scenario but are unsure where to go, then contact us here at B Well Fitness Club and see how we can help you.
